NFT Gallery during TEFAF in Maastricht
During the internationally most respected art fair TEFAF, which takes place between 23 and 30 June in Maastricht, Michelin Star Restaurant Beluga (in collaboration with Samsung The Frame) will house an NFT Gallery which will showcase work from world-renowned NFTs, including Beeple, the Bored Yacht Ape Club, Mad Dog Jones and Dadara. The gallery is open to the public for free and not only NFT’s will be shown, visitors can also get acquainted with the phenomenon. The Blockchain Netherlands Foundation has set up an ‘education’ corner, where visitors can learn more about the technology, how it works and its possibilities. In addition, each visitor will receive a free NFT on their visit.
Initiator and curator is entrepreneur Jan Scheele from Maastricht, who advises organisations worldwide on the use of blockchain technology, including crypto currencies, metaverse and NFTs. Scheele saw that NFTs have already found their way to Art Basel and Art Miami and found at Beluga in Maastricht a suitable place for a pop-up NFT gallery. Jan Scheele: ‘Electronics manufacturer Samsung supplies its latest NFT ‘The Frame’ TVs on which the NFT artworks can be seen’.
